Superman was created by Jerry Siegle and Joe Shuster, two high school students living in Cleveland, Ohio in 1933. The character was then sold to DC Comics in 1938 where he first appeared in the June 1938 issue of ACTION COMICS #1. Jump to today and you have a character that has changed more over the last 83 years than nearly any other fictional property. And yet he has stayed true to the basics of the power of one man making a difference in the world. In his latest incarnation, Clark Kent has lost quite a bit of the power that makes him "super" and his identity has been tipped off to the public. And so, his adventures are a little more down to earth than the planet-smashinig adventures Pre-Crisis. Regardless, he carries on the fight for truth and justice and, I'll say it, the American way!
