Over here in the states, this Sunday will be MOTHER'S DAY and while it is difficult to pin-point one mother figure in comics that makes a great representative for the role mothers play in our lives, the one that seems to stick out the most in American comics is AUNT MAY. Batman's mother dies in his origin story. In some stories, Superman's parents are long dead. All of Captain America's relatives are rarely portrayed in flashback. Wolverine has no memories of his past. In fact so many characters are either orphans or were only raised by one parent that it's kind of odd.
But Aunt May is Peter Parker's rock. She is the parental figure who, regardless of Uncle Ben's words about responsibility, shaped young Spidey's brain into the hero he would eventually become. And so we pay tribute to this mother of all characters this weekend by featuring her as the subject of this weekend's challenge...
